DOWNLOAD ABSTRACT

AIM:

Design and Development of Transformer Health Monitoring Using LoRa communication.

PURPOSE:

Transformers are main components in power distribution systems. Power distribution efficiency depends on how we maintain transformer. Defect of transformer can be identified after failure of transformer. But it will halt the power until replacing the failure transformer. We can detect transformer failure before it went into that stage. By measuring few parameters like temperature, Oil level, voltage and current of load of transformer. This type system can be used in residential purpose transformers also. Using LoRa technology, we can transmit multiple transformer health parameters to LoRa Gateway. From LoRa gate data will be upload to centralized IOT server. Project title is transformer health monitoring using LoRa communication using Arduino and ESP32 nodemcu.

DESCRIPTION:

LoRa transmitter section consists of Arduino, LoRa, temperature sensor, level sensor and transformer load controls. LM35/34 is a temperature sensor that can sense temperature of transformer. Level sensor placed inside transformer. For demonstration purposed we have placed it outside. LoRa receiver section consists of LoRa and ESP32 nodemcu.

WORKING:

Light connected to transformer through voltage and current sensor. Also it has 10K pot. By varying pot, light brightness will vary. When brightness varies that means it proportional to voltage and current. These values read by Arduino. Lm35/34 reads transformer temperature. Level sensor detects oil threshold level. All these values transmitted to LoRa receiver and handled by ESP32 nodemcu. ESP32 has inbuilt WIFI module that can communicate with IOT server. It uploads all this data to IOT cloud server periodically. By seeing values electricity department people can take action before transformer failure.
