Forest Fire Detection System Using LoRa Technology

DOWNLOAD ABSTRACT

AIM:

Design and Development of Forest Fire Detection System Using LoRa Technology.

PURPOSE:

In recent times we heard lot of forest and wild fires around the world. There are several reasons behind this and we can’t control it. Sometimes it may occur because of natural global warming. Control of global warming in separate process and that is not easily implemented. But there is a way that predicts fore fire occurrence and can alert before spreading widely. We can do this with some sensors combination. While fire expanding, surrounding temperature will rise than normal level also smoke will expand. To develop forest fire detection system we will use temperature sensor, smoke sensor and fire sensor. The proposed project title is Forest fire detection system using LoRa Technology using Arduino and ESP32 nodemcu. There are several nodes in the forest in various places attached with LoRa. Also there is LoRa gateway that can receive all nodes data and upload to cloud IOT server.

DESCRIPTION:

Arduino and LoRa module(SX1278) connected each other through SPI communication. LM35/34, Smoke sensor (Mq2), fire sensors connected to Arduino analog and digital pins respectively. At gateway side LoRa and ESP32 Nodemcu interfaced through SPI port.

WORKING:

LM35/34 can detect surrounding temperatures. It gives analog output voltage value to Arduino. Arduino converts voltage to temperature value. Like this Arduino reads smoke (mq2) value through analog pin. Fire detected through digital pin of Arduino. All these sensors data transmitted to LoRa gateway and then ESP32 nodemcu sends sensors data to IOT cloud server. There is relay which can control water pump and it will be ON when any sensor detects abnormal condition.
