Iot Flood Level Monitoring And Alerting System Using Raspberry Pi PICO

DOWNLOAD ABSTRACT

AIM:

Design and Development of IOT flood level monitoring and alerting system using Raspberry PI pico.

PURPOSE:

Natural disaster causes huge damage to living things. Especially floods increased year by year irrespective of season. Heavy floods cause property damage, agriculture damage and natural life damage.  There are so many researches done on flood management. But,   now it become significant to shift from personal monitoring and prediction frameworks to smart flood prediction systems which include stakeholders and the flood affecting people equally with the help of advanced technology. We can control floods but we can alert people before flood rising to high level. There are varied wireless technologies available but IOT is the best among all. Here proposed project title is IOT flood level monitoring and alerting system using raspberry pi pico.

DESCRIPTION:

DHT11 sensor, ultrasonic sensor, rain sensor and soil moisture sensor connected to pi pico digital pin. IOT module (ESP8266) connected to pi pico uart port. Red led, Green led and buzzer connected to pi pico digital pins.

WORKING:

DHT11 sensor detects temperature and humidity of environment. Rain sensor detects rain and gives signal to pi pico. Ultrasonic sensor installed at reservoir and it can detect level of flood with reference to reservoir. Soil moisture tells about soil condition whether wet or dry. All this sensors information will display on 16×2 LCD display. If any sensor detects abnormal condition then Red led will be ON along with buzzer that indicates emergency. Otherwise Green led will be ON.  Also Pico sends sensors data to IOT cloud server through ESP8266 module. We can see data from remote location. Sensors data will be visible in table format. For numerical values like temperature and humidity graphs provision will be available in server.
